Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Six Pack: MNBeer interviews Doug Hoverson

Six Pack is the name of our new feature involving interesting people who are involved with the great beer in Minnesota. As luck would have it, “Land of Amber Waters” author Doug Hoverson was our first “victim.” I had originally written five questions (hoping to call it the MNBeer 5ive), but Doug added a sixth question and six-pack seems so appropriate.

Six Pack: Doug Hoverson

(Oh, by the way, City Pages recently interviewed Doug as well.)

Flat Earth bottles roll out the door…

I’ve consumed plenty of this beer, but it’s nice to see that I’ll be able to pick it up in stores soon as well.  Way to go Flat Earth!

Greetings,
Today is a huge day for us! Bottles of our Belgian Pale Ale will start to be delivered today! Chisago Lakes Distribution picked up 100 cases of 22 oz. bottles yesterday and they will be hitting stores starting today. Where will they go? Good question. Here is a quick list of what I have heard so far, Cellars – Roseville, Cellars – St. Paul, Cellars – Eagan,
Cellars – Plymouth, Princeton’s – Maple Grove, Surdyk’s – Minneapolis (Next Week), Dolce Vita – Chaska (Next Week).

Now of course some of these stores will not see the beer until next week, so call before you make a trip. We will try to keep the web site as accurate as possible as we add more bars and stores to our growing line up.

Cheers!

Flat Earth Brewery Tour

On Saturday, Dawn and I joined a packed house for a tour of Flat Earth Brewing Co. Jeff covered all of the basics… a tour of the facility, some explanations about equipment and my favorite part, the q & a section. I’m always curious what people will ask and sometimes secretly wish I knew why. I resisted the urge to ask Jeff if he’d given up pants for a kilt and enjoyed my samples and snapped a few photos.

Two other things… look for Flat Earth in bombers soon… and keep your eyes peeled, eventually, for a Flander’s Red. Mmmm.
