Once again, Fitger’s comes to the table with more great beer, this time around it’s their Apostle Apple Ale. Let me just say that it is indeed tasty.

This week at the Brewhouse we released (today) Apostle Apple Ale. We get the first pressings from the apple harvest in Bayfield, WI, infuse this elixir into a malty golden lager and age to perfection.

This is our first offical fall release usually followed by Devils Track Pumpkin Ale.
I’m getting alot of questions on the release date of our pumpkin ale. Mark your calendars for Thursday October 26th. Pumpkin will arrive on that day.

Petunia’s Pumpkin Ale returns to Minneapolis Town Hall on Monday, October 16th, with $2 pints from 5-6. Just in case you didn’t catch the handy italicized notation, the release is on Monday, not Wednesday.

We’ve got some new things happening you should be aware of. We will now be having our beer releases on Monday eve, same deal still just $2 from 5-6pm on featured beer…

Next up-
Petunia’s Pumpkin Ale – our popular pumpkin ale marks the time of 1 year since our “Benefit for Jeannie.” Many of you have inquired about her health and this is a great time to announce that she has been in remission for about a year and is doing very well. Can’t wait to tell you the same thing next October!

We will release the Pumpkin Ale MONDAY 10/16 5-6pm, $2 pints.

Also, for those of you that are bummed because Wednesday worked with your schedule so well…we didn’t forget about you! Each and every Wednesday we will have u-pick ‘um pints of our beer for $2 from 5-6pm just like before. All of our beer – $2 pints 5-6pm (cask beer not included). How bout that?

Wednesday (insert clever name here) Town Hall 5-6 pm $2 beers across the board.

Thanks to everyone who attended the ABR yesterday. We had a great
turn-out and a very well-behaved crowd, and that always makes the
festival more enjoyable. Thanks also to everyone who stopped by the
booth and congratulated me on my new job. It’s always good to see
familiar faces.

The weather was absolutely perfect; I’d like to take credit for that, but
according to Paul, it was his doing.

It appears that the VIP hour was a success; it will return next year.

Last, but not least, Winterfest will be held at the Landmark Center Jan
20th, 2007, from 6:30-9:30. Tickets on sale at ticketworks.com beginning
at noon on Dec. 1. I’m hoping they will last a little longer than 4
minutes this year, but probably not much longer.

August Schell Brewing

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful time yesterday atAutumn Brew Review. I certainly did. Good beer, good friends, good music, good people… Thank you to everyone who stopped to introduce themselves and say hello. Thanks also to the Guild for mentioning MNBeer.com in the program – that was a welcomed surprise!

And now, a few random thoughts:

• The VIP hour was entirely worthwhile.
• Brau Brothers Brewing! Not only are they going to be bottling beer, but they’ve finally got a website!
• Breckenridge Brewery didn’t show. That’s two years in a row for those of you keeping track at home. If they sign up next year, I’m bringing a keg of my worst homebrew to serve in their place. Generally speaking, I like their beer, but c’mon… show up!
• I knew Boulevard was getting big, but hiring a beer server in a short-cropped tight t-shirt seems a little more like something you’d see from the BMC crowd.
• There were gallons upon gallons of good beer on tap. A few of my favorites included White Winter Winery’s Cyser & Blueberry Mead, Surly’s Darkness, Town Hall’s Thunderstorm & Twisted Reality, Fitger’s Cherry Batch, Wheatwine and Daisy Ale 8 and Schell’s cask Pale Ale and probably a bunch of others that I’m forgetting right now.
