Autumn Brew Review Cask Beer Update

Hey all-

Just a quick update on the ABR…

VIP tickets are nearly sold out. If you want the extra hour without the crowds, you’ll need to purchase your ticket ASAP. We’re only selling 300 VIP tickets.

I’ve had a few questions on the cask beers – here’s what I know so far:

August Schell – 1 pin Snowstorm 2006 (London Stout) and one pin of the Pale (I’m dry hopping and filling the cask tomorrow, as a matter of fact).

Barley John’s – They are bringing something, but I’m not sure what yet.

Fitger’s – a pin of Daisy Ale 8 (which must mean his daughter is eight this year, man how time flies!) Daisy Ale is a hoppy amber beer. Also, a pin of Big Boat Stout with what Dave describes as a unique hopping schedule.

Great Waters – Who knows what Bob has up his sleeve?

Summit – Damien is up to something, but I’m not sure what.

Town Hall – Mike is bringing the award-winning 1800 British IPA.

So, if you’re looking for cask beer, this is the place to be. Seriously, where else in the world are you going to find casks of Schell’s and Summit, and if you want casks from the pubs, you’d be doing a lot of driving to try them.

Cheers!

David Berg

New Beer at Fitger’s

Here’s an update from our friends to the north at Fitger’s in Duluth.

This week after Thursday we will release:

Breakwater White 5.3%
Belgian style wit beer. Brewed with unmalted wheat, spices and unique Belgian yeast.
This will be the last batch of Breakwater for 2006. Thanks to the love for the Breakwater we made a record 9 batches this summer and we will consider putting it on full-time next summer. (Votes?)

Gandvick Maple Baltic Porter 8.1%
We saved 1/2 of the batch when we brewed this beer in March. Now the mature flavors have kicked in and blended well with the maple.

Lester River Hefeweizen 5.5%
Our Bavarian style hefe.

Count on the Brewhouse to pour wheat beers all winter.

Remember the Autumn Brew Review (ABR) is Oct. 7th at Peavy Plaza in Minneapolis.
Get your tix online thru the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild website @ www.mncraftbrew.org

Cheers

Fresh Hop

Wednesday marks the release of Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery’s 2006 Fresh Hop Beer. The hops have been harvested and the fine folks at Town Hall have brewed a batch beer with more than 200 pounds of fragrant Centennial hops.

Hey all-

Want Fresh Hop Beer without traveling to the West Coast? We’ve got you covered. We brought 200+ lbs of fresh, wet Centennial hops to the midwest… I really mean fresh. They were in a field out West on Monday, and they were in our brew kettle Wednesday. What a beer we have! (Thanks to tremedous transportation routes and our little buddy Tom.) This beer is all about the essence of American hops. This beer smells of hops, tastes of hops and introduces you to the true bitterness of hops. There is no balance here….it is all hops! Come and taste hops this Wednesday 9/27. This beer is just $2 from 5-6pm (Pint clubbers just $1.25).

Speaking of Pint clubbers-

This year’s memberships will be on sale starting Saturday. Benefits include:
-Lifetime membership

-We buy your first growler (if you act fast you might be able to have it filled with Fresh Hop 2006)

-$.75 discount on each beer you purchase even during happy hour and beer release (some exceptions on rare beer)

-Complimentary beer during Pint club reception each Saturday from 4-5pm. (Again a few exceptions)

-Further discounts/invitations to selected events

All this for a lifetime just $140….do the math, it pays for itself quickly. We only sell 50!
