This sounds good… $2.50 Summit taps all month long. Stub & Herb’s has Summit Extra Pale Ale and Oatmeal Stout on tap and will tap the ESB and Pilsener soon.

Lanny dropped us a line to let us know that on Tuesday, from about 6:00pm until close, all Artisanal Imports beers (except DeuS) will be half off at The Bulldog on Lyndale. That’s Tripel Karmeliet, Kwak, Koningshoeven, St. Feuillien, Meantime, Grotten, and maybe even some Urthel. All half off. Go and enjoy some great imported beer for unbeatable prices!
Al is turning 40 in a couple of weeks, so to celebrate his official “over the hill” status, he’s throwing a party at The Blue Nile on Saturday, June 28th. Beer will flow. I promise. In fact, Al has provided a preliminary lineup:
4:00 pm Tyranena Dirty Old Man. (Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Rye Porter)
4:30 Cask of Rush River Bubblejack IPA.
5:00 Tyranena Devil Over A Barrel Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Oatmeal Porter
5:30 Cask of Bell’s Two Hearted Ale
6:00 Tyranena’s new Brewer’s Gone Wild entry, Scurvy, IPA brewed with orange peel.
6:30 Surly Oak-Aged CynicAle
7:00 One small keg of Surly Two
the 4-6 2-4-1’s will be in effect, but not for the cask pints, which will be reasonably priced (probably $3), and not for the 6:00 tapping, either, which will be 12 oz pours, because it is a small keg.
The old man will be pouring, until 7 after which time AARP will call and tell him that he must take a break and sit on the other side of the bar. None of this is set in stone right now, but it’ll give you a good idea of what might be available that night. Al says that presents aren’t necessary, though I suggest he won’t protest if you give him a nice bottle of hard-to-find craft beer. 🙂
“Beer flows at the Blue Nile” by Tom Horgen
One of his proudest moments was in 2002, when he took a perennial mainstream beer off the tap line: “I dropped Budweiser and replaced it with Maredsous, a Belgian Abbey beer. We got rid of the most ubiquitous beer in the world for a family-owned brewery.”
Thanks for the e-mail, Tony! Head on over to Grumpy’s Northeast at 7:00pm on Thursday for an event with Two Brothers Brewing Company. It’s been billed as a “Meet and Eat.” They’ll have free Maxwell (Northeast 4th) street style Polish sausage and of course some Two Brothers beer.
Also, Tony mentioned that they just replaced all of their tap lines to ensure the quality of their taps remains awesome.
Oh, and in case you’re curious, here’s what they have on tap right now: Bellhaven Wee Heavy, Hennepin Farmhouse Saison, Summit Hefe, Harp, Bell’s Two Hearted, Grain Belt, Grain Belt Light, Surly Bitter Brewer, Summit EPA, Stella Artois, Bell’s Oberon, Magner’s, Guinness, Southern Tier Cherry Saison, Two Brothers Cane & Abel RedRye Ale, St. Feuillien Belgian Tripel.
