Barley is one of the primary ingredients for producing beer and the University of Minnesota is an active center for barley research. Come to the St. Paul campus on Thursday, July 13, 2 -5 PM and join others from the local malting and brewing industries to visit with UM researchers, learn about barley research, and see field experiments on campus.

This year we will get “back to basics” with more descriptions of how we breed, grow, and harvest barley. We will have planter and combine equipment demonstrations, field plot tours, and hands-on activities to learn how to do barley pollination. All followed by refreshments and a chance to socialize.
