Firkin Fest 2011

For those of you that have been to Firkin Fest at The Happy Gnome before, make sure to take note of some changes that are being made to the event this year.

This year we will try to push up the number of Firkins to over 70. We are limiting the number of people and having a set entrance fee (so once you get in, you sample the beer you want and don’t worry about tickets or such). We want you to come experience some amazing one of a kind beer.

Tickets on sale March 1st via our website. $35 for regular entrance (1-5), $45 VIP (enter at noon!). Once the beer runs out, the beer is gone, so first come first serve. Should be plenty of beer with over 70 firkins (so with 9 imperial gallons in each firkin…)

Looking forward to having some fun, rain or shine. Tickets will not be refundable.

WAY BETTER. I went to this event last year and it was so full my husband and I turned around and left without even getting a beer. I’m so happy to hear of these changes – I’m sure it will make for a much more enjoyable event!

  2. Great event! Probably a good move with the tickets and such.

First time attending the Firkin Fest. We (wife & I) were excited about it. Unfortunately, there were definitely too many people there. It could have been an excellent event. It was difficult to move arround in the tents, long wait for bathroom breaks, long wait for food, etc. On a good note, it amazes me that everyone was well behaved and cordial. Probably won’t be back unless less tickets are sold.

Gotta agree with Steve. The beers were tasty and the people were really cool and well-behaved, but they seriously need to find a bigger venue or sell fewer tickets. Getting around was impossible and the lines for the bathrooms were absolutely ridiculous. Probably won’t come back unless they make some serious changes next year.
