A Nod to Local Micros in the Strib
The Taste 50 in today’s Strib. had a nice nod to Minnesota micros:
Another welcome trend: the rise of excellent local microbreweries, including Flat Earth, Brau Brothers, Surly and Wisconsin’s Rush River.
Ommegang tasting at Stub & Herb’s
Join us at Stub & Herb’s once again for another Wednesday tasting! On Wednesday, May 28th, representatives from Ommegang will be on hand to talk about their beer and share some samples. $5. Every one of these events has been a great time. Cheers to Jon and the staff at Stub & Herb’s for doing such a good job.

Summit Movie Contest – Extended Deadline
Summit has extended the deadline for its Movie Contest until June 3 and the brewery will be staying open until 7 pm that night for all the last minute submissions. So make your Memorial Day drinking productive and film your own contest entry, because wouldn’t it be cool to win the $1,000 prize, a private party and 12 cases of Summit beer?!?
Are CitySearch voters dumb?
I’m not ragging on Kieran’s or Brit’s, but I have to respectfully disagree with Citysearch – neither have the “best beer selection in the Twin Cities.” I’m not sure that either would make the top ten, and McCoy’s, The Lodge and Plums probably wouldn’t either.
So, that being said, what are your top ten beer spots in the Twin Cities.
