Everything You’ve Ever Wanted to Know About This Year’s Autumn Brew Review but Were Afraid to Ask

Wanna Sample Fine Beer?

Do we really have to ask? Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7 for this year’s Autumn Brew Review. The event, which will feature 100+ beers from more than 30 regional craft brewers, will again be held in Downtown Minneapolis at Peavey Plaza (located on Nicollet Avenue and 11th Street).

The event is a perfect venue to sample several unique flavors of fresh craft beer, many of which are not available in liquor stores. Attendees receive a commemorative glass and unlimited samples throughout the day. The event also features live music from a variety of Twin Cities bands and several food vendors.

Tickets are $25 in advance for general admission (1 p.m. – 6 p.m.) or $35 for VIP tickets (which allows you to enter the event one hour early to start sampling and have more “quality time” with the brewmasters).

For tickets, visit www.mncraftbrew.org. (Please know that tickets are limited so advanced ticket purchases are encouraged.)

All ticket proceeds benefit the Minnesota Craft Brewer’s Guild, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Minnesota breweries and the importance of carrying on the tradition of brewing for future generations to enjoy.

Hope to see you October 7th!

AND…

1. VIP tickets get you an extra hour [of BEER!] (ABR begins at noon), but more importantly, an hour without crowds (Only 300 tickets will be sold!).

2. It appears that the VIP time on the tickets is incorrect. VIP begins
at Noon.

3. New this year – Cask Row. We have a few breweries bringing cask beer,
so we’re going to place them in the same area. Who is bringing casks, you
wonder? How’s this for a line-up: Town Hall, Great Waters, Fitger’s,
Barley John’s (I think), Summit, probably Surly and you heard it here
first, I’m bringing two of Schell’s beers on cask, one of which will be this
year’s Snowstorm, a London Stout.

See you there!

David Berg

More New Beer at Fitger’s

As another week begins, the fine folks at Fitger’s roll out some more great beers.

Howdy,
A quick update on the new beers this week at the brewhouse

Sterling Select Ale
A hybrid between a lager and a golden pale. Hops are added (quite a few) ale is fermented cool and the result is pretty tasty. Oh yeah, only one type of 2 row barley and only Sterling hops are used.

Hair O the Monk
Our version of a Belgian Triple. Golden and strong but in a very easy to drink way.

Adventurefest Lager
This lager will be released this weekend. A fest style lager brewed once a year in support of the Adventure Duluth race held in Duluth on Sept 23rd. This is a fall festival lager brewed in Germany for hundreds of years. Malty and medium bodied with a lingering caramel finish.

chck our website www.brewhouse.net for info or www.adventureduluth.com for race info

Fitger’s Beer Release

Wednesday is a good day for beer… With a nod to Charlie Parr, Fitger’s is releasing Parr’s porter.

Hi Beer Folks,

Here is the latest down at the Brewhouse.

We have a special release this week on Wednesday Sept 6th. Our friend Charlie Parr recoreded a live cd at the Brewhouse last summer. He was joined by many of his talented musical friends over a 1 week period. The cd is now ready for release on Wednesday night at the Brewhouse. As many of you know Charlie is one of the best pickers you will ever get a chance to hear. In thanks to Charlie for years of friendship and great Wednesday night sessions @ the Brewhouse we brewed a beer for him.

On Wednesday we will release Parr’s Porter. Parr’s is a robust American style porter. Brewed to match Charlie’s personality. Humble, quiet, and full of character and goodness. Stop down and give Mr Parr some love.

This week we will also release

Park Point Pils. A German style pilsener

05′ Ole Redbeard Barley Wine . Aged strong, old ale.
