Misc Beer News

One: At this very moment, Winterfest tickets are still available. 325 tickets sold within the first thirty minutes. At this point, I would guess that less than 50 tickets are still available. If you want to taste some great Minnesota beers, get your tickets. A few memorable beer from last year included aged barleywines, dubbels, tripels, barrel-aged beers and of course Surly’s debut.

Two: While driving to work today, I heard the radio version of this piece on the renovation of the Clyde Iron Works complex in Duluth. The plan includes a sports complex, hotel, market and a brewery. I wasn’t able to find any additional information about the brewery – hopefully we’ll learn more soon.

Three: A few photos have been added to Flat Earth Brewing’s website.

Cellars Beer Tasting: Belgium

Be there or be… um… dumb.

This week will mark the beginning of our country tastings. We have completed our U.S. circuit and Colorado and the NW US will represent the US in the end. Belgium will hopefully set the mark for a few great tastings to come as we head out on an international beer tour. So come on in and try some free beer, because drinking in a crowd is so much more fun! The Cellars Wines, Brews & Spirits FREE – IN STORE Beer Tastings begin at 7 p.m. and no reservations or fees are required. Please call or email me with any suggestions, questions or special requests.

Thank you,
Joe Haugen
