Battle of the Belg 2010.1

Al’s up to his old tricks! There will be an all tap line up of Belgian style beers with the option of a $10 sampler (4 4-oz pours) or glass (12-oz or 16-oz) for $5.50 – $8 (depending on brew). You’ll have the opportunity to compare Belgian-brewed beers to their counterparts brewed elsewhere (US, Canada, Norway).

Saison/Farmhouse Ale:
Dupont Vielle Provision vs. Surly CynicAle

Abbey Tripel:
Bosteel’s Tripel Karmeliet vs. Nogne-O Tiger Tripel

Abbey Dubbel:
Duvel Moortgat’s MAredsous Brune vs. North Coast Brother Thelonious

Strong Ale:
Brouwerij Van Steenburge’s Gulden Draak vs. Unibroue’s Trois Pistoles

Golden Ale:
Delirium Tremens vs. Weyerbacher Merry Monks

Flemish Red Ale:
Brouwerij Bockor’s Cuvee de Jacobins Rouge (aka Ommegang Rouge) vs. New Belgium’s La Folie

If any of the offerings run out, trust Al to pull out a mystery beer to fill the space. So make plans to head over to the Blue Nile and belly up for a night of Belgians.

Correction: the single servings are not $10. Sorry for the misleading copy. They are in the $7, $8 range, and Cynic is $5.50 a pint.

Hmmmmm, fiance is outta town that weekend…. It’s this for sure unless we head down to BrauFest. Or you could always goto the CityPages Drunken Fratboy Fest I suppose.
