Have Lunch @Ngon Today

If you are up for braving the rain, head over to Ngon Bistro today for lunch. From the sounds of the special, it’ll be well worth the chance of melting.

Lunch Feature: Toad in the Hole & $2 Cygnus
Woke up this morning hoping for a glimpse of sunshine. No such luck. Decide it just roll with it and make a English lunch special.
My version of Toad in the hole: House-made Vietnamese sweet pork sausage baked in Yorkshire pudding batter with carrot, onions, mushrooms, brussels sprouts and anise spiced gravy.
Pair with Flat Earth Cygnus porter for additional $2

Beer vs Wine

When you can’t get MN beer (like, um, Sundays), you know you can always run across the border to WI. And one of the best places to stop is at Casanova’s. Check out the battle they’ve got coming up.

He Said Beer, She Said Wine
This is the rubber match.

Jana vs. Tyrrell to break the tie of who can pair their drink of choice with the culinary skills of Chef Nate. Jana took the first class by a small margin with a mainly wine drinking crowd and then Tyrrell came back in the second class with some big guns like Kwak and NG Cherry Stout and won by a landslide. This will be the tasting to come to because both will be putting their dukes up throwing out some mean pairing.

The class is going to be on Saturday May 22nd starting at 5pm. Chef Nate comes up with 3 food items and Jana pairs 3 wines with the food and Tyrrell pairs 3 beers and then everyone that shows up are the judges. The winner gets bragging rights and the winning beers or wines will go on sale for that week. Make sure you sign up soon because the last class sold out. So stop by Casanova Liquor to reserve your spot.
