Beer Evangelist Class

The first “Beer Evangelist” class will take place on June 20th at 8pm at The Four Firkins. The class will be taught by Josh Pepper, a certified BJCP beer judge. Josh also teaches classes at Surdyk’s and Cooks of Crocus Hill. To sign up email alvey AT thefourfirkins.com. Space is limited, so act quickly! Grumpy’s NE Update

Grumpy’sThanks for the e-mail, Tony! Head on over to Grumpy’s Northeast at 7:00pm on Thursday for an event with  Two Brothers Brewing Company. It’s been billed as a “Meet and Eat.” They’ll have free Maxwell (Northeast 4th) street style Polish sausage and of course some Two Brothers beer.

Also, Tony mentioned that they just replaced all of their tap lines to ensure the quality of their taps remains awesome.

Oh, and in case you’re curious, here’s what they have on tap right now: Bellhaven Wee Heavy, Hennepin Farmhouse Saison, Summit Hefe, Harp, Bell’s Two Hearted, Grain Belt, Grain Belt Light, Surly Bitter Brewer, Summit EPA, Stella Artois, Bell’s Oberon, Magner’s, Guinness, Southern Tier Cherry Saison, Two Brothers Cane & Abel RedRye Ale, St. Feuillien Belgian Tripel.

Schell’s Hefeweizen is on the way…

Schell’sLook for August Schell Hefeweizen on store shelves near you soon. Dave told me that they packaged the beer last week, so no doubt you’ll see it soon.

Schell’s Hefeweizen is made with 60% wheat malts and 40% barley malt. We use an authentic wheat beer yeast culture, which gives the beer a fruity ale character dominated by a citrus-like tartness. A slice of lemon is traditionally served with this type of wheat beer.
