Battle of the Belg 2010.1

Al’s up to his old tricks! There will be an all tap line up of Belgian style beers with the option of a $10 sampler (4 4-oz pours) or glass (12-oz or 16-oz) for $5.50 – $8 (depending on brew). You’ll have the opportunity to compare Belgian-brewed beers to their counterparts brewed elsewhere (US, Canada, Norway).

Abbey Tripel:
Bosteel’s Tripel Karmeliet vs. Nogne-O Tiger Tripel

Abbey Dubbel:

Strong Ale:
Brouwerij Van Steenburge’s Gulden Draak vs. Unibroue’s Trois Pistoles

Golden Ale:
Delirium Tremens vs. Weyerbacher Merry Monks

Flemish Red Ale:
Brouwerij Bockor’s Cuvee de Jacobins Rouge (aka Ommegang Rouge) vs. New Belgium’s La Folie

If any of the offerings run out, trust Al to pull out a mystery beer to fill the space. So make plans to head over to the Blue Nile and belly up for a night of Belgians.

Mantorville at Bunny’s in SLP

Brewer and owner Tod Fyten of the Mantorville Brewing Company located in MN’s Bluff Country, will be sampling the locally made Stagecoach Amber Ale for Craft Beer Week at Bunny’s Bar & Grill, 5916 Excelsior Boulevard, 952-922-9515. Thursday May 20 8 – 10 pm. If you can’t make the tasting, you can still catch a taste. The Stagecoach Amber is the beer of the month. Bunny’s makes great food. Tod recommends the Corn Beef.
