Ngon – New Cask & Seasonal

The new cask is oak aged Surly Bender: Surly Bender aged with oak for 3 weeks ABV – 5.1%

New seasonal is Lift Bridge Chestnut Hill: Beer style: Nut Brown Ale ABV: 7.0%

Description: A wonderfully big nut brown ale crafted with roasty toasty malts balanced with Yakima hops and just enough alcohol to keep you warm on a fall afternoon. This is Lift Bridge’s newest seasonal beer released in draught only.

In addition to the beer, Ngon has great food, and if you can make it over there for lunch a little birdie said that their Croque Madam is to die for.

Goose Island Extremely Naughty Brown Goose Release Party

Goose Island is hosting a Release Party for Extremely Naughty Brown Goose at Stub & Herb’s on Thursday September 17th from 6 to 8pm.  It is the first time this brew has been available in Minnesota.

Here’s the description of the beer:

Extremely Naughty Brown Goose is the latest limited release brew from Goose Island’s Reserve Line.  It is a chestnut brown bourbon barrel aged strong ale (Imperial Brown Ale).  At 9% ABV Extremely Naughty Goose is very rich and filled with flavors of wood, bourbon, vanilla, toasted, raisin and malt characteristics.  Unfiltered and veiled, a chill haze is expected.

SurlyFest Bar Release at Tracy’s

Tracy’s Saloon & Eatery is proud to be this year’s home to Surly Brewing Company’s bar-release party for SurlyFest, Surly’s interpretation of an Oktoberfest. (Please no BJCP/style/fanboy arguments)

September Beer & Beast at Acadia Cafe

Jeff at Acadia Cafe dropped us a line to let us know about this month’s Beer & Beast. This month they are featuring Sierra Nevada’s Anniversary Ale paired with a grilled salmon dinner.  They’ll start pouring the beer at 6pm ($3/Pint) Brian Bade from Sierra Nevada will be on hand to talk about the brewery and hand our swag.  The salmon should be ready by 7pm, and you can get dinner and a pint for $10.
