More New Beer at Fitger’s

As another week begins, the fine folks at Fitger’s roll out some more great beers.

Howdy,
A quick update on the new beers this week at the brewhouse

Sterling Select Ale
A hybrid between a lager and a golden pale. Hops are added (quite a few) ale is fermented cool and the result is pretty tasty. Oh yeah, only one type of 2 row barley and only Sterling hops are used.

Hair O the Monk
Our version of a Belgian Triple. Golden and strong but in a very easy to drink way.

Adventurefest Lager
This lager will be released this weekend. A fest style lager brewed once a year in support of the Adventure Duluth race held in Duluth on Sept 23rd. This is a fall festival lager brewed in Germany for hundreds of years. Malty and medium bodied with a lingering caramel finish.

Fitger’s Beer Release

Wednesday is a good day for beer… With a nod to Charlie Parr, Fitger’s is releasing Parr’s porter.

Hi Beer Folks,

Here is the latest down at the Brewhouse.

We have a special release this week on Wednesday Sept 6th. Our friend Charlie Parr recoreded a live cd at the Brewhouse last summer. He was joined by many of his talented musical friends over a 1 week period. The cd is now ready for release on Wednesday night at the Brewhouse. As many of you know Charlie is one of the best pickers you will ever get a chance to hear. In thanks to Charlie for years of friendship and great Wednesday night sessions @ the Brewhouse we brewed a beer for him.

On Wednesday we will release Parr’s Porter. Parr’s is a robust American style porter. Brewed to match Charlie’s personality. Humble, quiet, and full of character and goodness. Stop down and give Mr Parr some love.

This week we will also release

Park Point Pils. A German style pilsener

05′ Ole Redbeard Barley Wine . Aged strong, old ale.

Town Hall Beer Release & Brunch

Minneapolis Town Hall is releasing yet another beer this Wednesday, Honeymoon Ale. I was there on Saturday and enjoyed the Simcoe Pale Ale (on cask, no less) and the Grand Cru. Very nice.

Hey all,
Another Wednesday approaches and so does another beer to release. Wednesday, 9/6 we will release our Honeymoon Ale. This is brewed for Kristen and Jamie who were married last Saturday and are soon off on their honeymoon. This beer resembles the Anniversary Ale…seemed appropriate.

Also

Starting Sept. 10 (this coming Sunday) we will start are weekly Sunday Brunch! From 9am-noon every Sunday enjoy our fabulous “all you want to eat” buffet and a house beer of your choice or a bloody mary for the low price of $10. After that pop that top button on your trousers and relax in the lounge for all the football you want to watch. We got the package….the game will be on

Cheers
Mike

Surly at the Happy Gnome

That’s Wednesday folks…

A quick note to Surly Nation:

We will be pouring cask Furious tomorrow at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul.
Stop by around 7:00 to get Tea-Bagged.

See you drinking,
Omar

Autumn Brew Review

Autumn Brew Review takes place in a little more than a month. Do you have your tickets? I’ve got mine (VIP, no less), but I was reminded of this lovely little event today while visiting Midwest for some grain today. I couldn’t help but notice these cool little coasters that serve as a reminder that Autumn Brew Review is on its way. Can you taste the beer? Can you?! Heh. I can! (Oh wait, that’s the New Holland Mad Hatter IPA in my glass…)
