School is in session tonight (Wednesday, 11/9) from 6-7 at Republic. Beer School welcomes Shaun Wolf from Duvel Moortgat to pour some beers from Duvel and Maredsous. Swing by Republic at 6PM to enjoy some great beers and learn a bit about Belgian brewing tradition. Tallgrass Velvet Rooster Release This Week
Tallgrass is rolling out their latest beer, Velvet Rooster, said to be the world’s first Belgian-style Tripel in a can.
“Velvet Rooster is in the Trappist tradition of Belgian Tripels with sweet tones gently hiding its strong alcohol bite (8.5% ABV). The beer pours a golden straw color and is topped with a lofty pure white head that unveils the beer’s strong floral and fruit aromas.
The taste is clean but complex, starting with hints of fruit and sweet malt, with just a touch of candy sweetness at the end. The beer’s Champagne-like effervescence provides a crisp offset to its sweet finish.”

Support A Dangerous Man & His Plan…
If you’re not already familiar, Rob Miller wants to open Dangerous Man Brewing Co. in Northeast Minneapolis next summer. He’s run into a snag in that the spot he’d like to use is within 300 feet of a religious institution, a no-no according to the lawbooks at this point. The goal, of course, is to change the law. So… if you’re available Monday afternoon, please lend your support.
