The Beer Dabbler folks continue to add components to the Highland Fest Beer Dabbler, first with a series of classes, and now with a home brew contest.
The most important part of your entry is of course your beer, which must be dropped off between 1:00 and 3:30 pm on July 17th. For all the rest of the details, click here.

I was looking at the calendar, realizing my in-laws will be in town in eight days, and then Father’s Day is in 10 days, which means the 2nd annual St. Paul Summer Beer Fest is almost here! Just in time for the arrival of my wife’s family Father’s Day!
The brewery list keeps growing, with new ones added every week. The boys at Chop Liver, LLC are updating the “notes” section of their Facebook page weekly with the additions, and we’ll post here when the list is complete.

Can it be? Are the rumors true? Did Omar Ansari, proprietor of Surly Brewing and all around nice guy win Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year? Sure looks like it. Congratulations Omar! Well deserved. More news to come.

Omar won EoY in the Consumer Products category in the Upper Midwest Category (MN, WI and the Dakotas). This makes him eligible to compete for the national awards, which will be handed out in November.
Are you heading to the Twin Cities Gay Pride Parade on June 27th? Then considering watching it from and attending the pre-parade show at the corner of 9th and Hennepin.!
What does this have to do with beer, you might ask? Well naturally parades are better with beer, but in this case, if you buy a V.I.P Grandstand ticket, the $30 gets you covered grandstand seating with seats right across from the judges and emcee, with a beer (or cocktail) and breakfast snack provided by Rock Bottom Brewery (which will open at 9am for breakfast inside).
