Surly Mild is a wonderful thing to behold, but as it holds a place in their seasonal line-up, the time to behold it is winding down. If you’re a Mild lover, you might want to check out Downtime Bar & Grill on the U of M campus. They’ll be serving up their last kegs of Mild for $3/pint, plus a sample of cask Furious with any Surly purchase.
Other notes:
1) There is a $5 cover as they have live music so consider yourself warned.
2) If drinking beer makes you hungry, Aaron Landry says they make pretty good ‘za.
Anytime is a good time to stop in at Common Roots Cafe for a beer, especially Fridays in May, when they’ll be hosting MN brewers Surly, Brau and Fulton.
May 7 – Surly Brewing
The Surly crew will be in and five of their beers will be available: Cynic, Furious, Abrasive, Schadenfreude and a firkin of oak-aged dry hopped Cynic.
May 21 – Brau Bros
Dustin Brau will be in town debuting their take on the black & tan – The Black Sheep. It’s a mix of their Cream Stout and SheepHead Ale.
May 28 – Fulton
The Fulton guys will be stopping by. Check back for details on what beers will be poured. The good word has been spoken – it’ll be a cask of IPA double dry-hopped with Glacier.
It’s a big week in Minnesota with both Odell and Great Lakes Brewing Company entering our market. They’re both making the rounds and tonight you can find GLBC at Acadia Cafe.
Acadia will have six GLBC beers on tap plus Cleveland food faves hot dogs and pretzels.
$6 beer flights
$3 pints
$3.75 for 2 hot dogs
$1.50 pretzels
Although we’ve been blessed with a warm spring and many places already setting up their patios, Longfellow Grill will be hosting an official Patio Kick-Off Party on June 9th.
Hang out with Mark Stutrud and the Summit crew while enjoying $2 pints of Summit and $1 grilled brats.
