Flat Earth Thursday Growlers

I’m not sure where the week has gone, but the calendar says it’s Thursday and therefore your second chance this week to stock up on Flat Earth.

It finally is starting to look like Winter around here and that brings a quick reminder that Porterfest is at the half way point. We are featuring Bravado Cygnus this week, think of it like a liquid Black Forest Cake.

Tonight we’ll have:
Angry Planet Pale Ale
Belgian Pale Ale
Curly Tail Ale
Cygnus X-1 Porter
Oatmeal Stout
Bermuda Triangle Triple
Black Helicopter Coffee Stout
Bravado – Cherry-Fudge infused Cygnus

Cheers!

Drum Roll, Please!

Hot from the press of Jace Marti at August Schell (okay, it’s an e-mail, but it still has the same, breaking-news allure). The fine beer-making, beer-swillin’ folks at August Schell have announced a winner for their Anniversary Draft Series.

We would like to thank everyone who has participated in our 150th Anniversary Draft Series over the past two years! We appreciate all of the positive feedback regarding the different brews. We hope you have enjoyed them as much as we have. Online voting has closed,  the votes tallied, and the anniversary brew selected. Before we officially release the winner of the Anniversary Draft Series, we would just like to state that 2010 is going to be a very special year for the Schell’s crew, and hope that you will join us as we celebrate our 150th Anniversary. So, without further adieu the winner is…

Hopfenmalz!!

Winterfest Sold Out in 8 Minutes!

Less than 20 minutes after noon, Laura (Winterfest, Arborfest and Autumn Brew Review’s event guru) e-mailed me to tell me that all 700 Winterfest tickets sold out in 8 minutes. 8 minutes! Damn!

My deepest regrets to those of you who wanted tickets but weren’t able to get them. I wish you better luck next year. For those of you who received tickets, congrats! Meet me for a sample or three at the History Center in February!

And for those of you trying to turn a buck on eBay or Craigslist, King Gambrinus is frowning upon you.
