Beer Evangelist Class

The first “Beer Evangelist” class will take place on June 20th at 8pm at The Four Firkins. The class will be taught by Josh Pepper, a certified BJCP beer judge. Josh also teaches classes at Surdyk’s and Cooks of Crocus Hill. To sign up email alvey AT thefourfirkins.com. Space is limited, so act quickly! The class costs $5, and you’ll receive a $5 coupon to spend at the store that night. Free shirts too!

Grumpy’s NE Update

Grumpy’sThanks for the e-mail, Tony! Head on over to Grumpy’s Northeast at 7:00pm on Thursday for an event with  Two Brothers Brewing Company. It’s been billed as a “Meet and Eat.” They’ll have free Maxwell (Northeast 4th) street style Polish sausage and of course some Two Brothers beer.

Also, Tony mentioned that they just replaced all of their tap lines to ensure the quality of their taps remains awesome.

Oh, and in case you’re curious, here’s what they have on tap right now: Bellhaven Wee Heavy, Hennepin Farmhouse Saison, Summit Hefe, Harp, Bell’s Two Hearted, Grain Belt, Grain Belt Light, Surly Bitter Brewer, Summit EPA, Stella Artois, Bell’s Oberon, Magner’s, Guinness, Southern Tier Cherry Saison, Two Brothers Cane & Abel RedRye Ale, St. Feuillien Belgian Tripel.

Flat Earth Update

The fine folks of Flat Earth have been busy! Last weekend at the City Pages Beer Festival they went through over 4 kegs of beer and the next day gave away over 1,000 frisbees at the Grand Old Day Parade.
Growler sales every Thursday
Last Thursday marked their first growler sale and they will be continuing to sell them weekly on Thursdays 3:30 – 6:30 pm. $16 per growler, $9 refills and seasonal beers (like Black Helicopter) will vary in price. This week you can pick up Belgian Pale Ale, Element 115, Cygnus X-1, Curly Tail and Black Helicopter.
Brewery tour
The next tour will be Saturday, June 28th at 4:00 pm. Growlers will be for sale after the tour.

Starting late next week you will be able to find bottles of Flat Earth back on liquor store shelves sporting beautiful new labels designed by Russell Herder. Belgian Pale Ale will be the first out, followed by Element 115 and Angry Planet.
