Strib Article on Hop Shortage

In case you’re not a reader of the Star Tribune or in case you generally just like to look at the pictures and read the comics in the paper (like me), let me point you to an article in today’s Strib about the impact that the hop shortage is having on local brewers.  For anyone who has paid attention to this over the past months, there really isn’t anything new to report.  However, Chao Xiong, the reporter, does a good job in addressing the impact locally.

Schell’s Hefeweizen is on the way…

Schell’sLook for August Schell Hefeweizen on store shelves near you soon. Dave told me that they packaged the beer last week, so no doubt you’ll see it soon.

Schell’s Hefeweizen is made with 60% wheat malts and 40% barley malt. We use an authentic wheat beer yeast culture, which gives the beer a fruity ale character dominated by a citrus-like tartness. A slice of lemon is traditionally served with this type of wheat beer.

Town Hall Beer Release: Milk Porter & 1800 IPA

townhall.jpgNew beers on Monday at Town Hall. Incidentally, I stopped by last night and they had some choice selections – Mango Mama, Evolution, Hefeweizen. Lots of good stout.

Looks like Monday 6/2 will we a huge day at Town Hall Brewery. Provided you are thirsty this weekend it looks like we will be releasing your favorite 1800 English IPA (6.3lbs hops per barrel) and the newest kid on the block our Milk Porter- on nitro. Nitro makes fast/mass quantities very difficult so Monday we will only be offering intro price for the 1800 IPA. Don’t worry the Milk Porter will still be on happy hour. Why a Milk Porter rather than a Milk Stout?? Wait until you taste how smooth and enjoyable this stuff is….you’ll understand. FYI keep your heads up for the upcoming Dark Chocolate Milk Porter and the Lingonberry Milk Porter….should be ready in about 3 weeks.
Wow- more tanks equals more fun!
Cheers
