Coming soon from Flat Earth…

fe1.jpgFlat Earth Winter Warlock should be available by the end of January both on draft and in bottles. Their newest seasonal is a golden English Barleywine weighing in at 9% ABV.

Flat Earth Belgian Pale Ale and  Element 115 are both available in 22 oz. bombers – keep your eyes open for bombers of Cygnus X-1 by the end of the month.

If you’d like to see where the Flat Earth magic happens their next tour will be January 19th at 1 pm. They can also be found that same night at 6:30 at the Lilydale Pool & Yacht Club pouring their Belgian pale ale at a Belgian beer tasting sponsored by Chisago Lakes Distribution. $25 gets you tastes of 10 micro and imports. For more information contact Petchen’s Southview Liquors at 651-455-7070 or petschen@mindspring.com.

Stop by Common Roots Cafe January 31st from 5:00 – 7:00 pm for a Flat Earth evening.

And for a whole meal accompanied by Flat Earth’s fine creations head over to The Happy Gnome on February 5th for their first beer dinner. I’ve heard these beer dinners usually sell out so make sure to call The Gnome ahead of time to make your reservation (651-287-2018).

Brew52

Brew52.com, a new website described as “an online beer tasting festival” caught my attention yesterday after Jeff sent me the link and Rett followed-up with a message on MySpace. Aside from the nice design, what really separates this site from your typical beer review sites is the fact that they’re keeping it local:

Minnesota has a ton of great breweries and participants of Brew52 will sample many of them during the 52 weeks of 2008. In addition to sampling beer in the comfort of their homes, participants meet up for the occasional beer-sampling at local brew pubs. These events will be announced in the upcoming weeks and anyone is welcome to join.

This sounds like fun… another local alternative to at least some facets of BeerAdvocate and RateBeer.
