Another ABR Wrap-Up

Greetings all-

Thanks to everyone who attended the ABR yesterday. We had a great
turn-out and a very well-behaved crowd, and that always makes the
festival more enjoyable. Thanks also to everyone who stopped by the
booth and congratulated me on my new job. It’s always good to see
familiar faces.

The weather was absolutely perfect; I’d like to take credit for that, but
according to Paul, it was his doing.

It appears that the VIP hour was a success; it will return next year.

Last, but not least, Winterfest will be held at the Landmark Center Jan
20th, 2007, from 6:30-9:30. Tickets on sale at ticketworks.com beginning
at noon on Dec. 1. I’m hoping they will last a little longer than 4
minutes this year, but probably not much longer.

Thanks for supporting the Minnesota Craft Brewer’s Guild.

Cheers!

Autumn Brew Review Hango… Recap

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful time yesterday atAutumn Brew Review. I certainly did. Good beer, good friends, good music, good people… Thank you to everyone who stopped to introduce themselves and say hello. Thanks also to the Guild for mentioning MNBeer.com in the program – that was a welcomed surprise!

And now, a few random thoughts:

  • The VIP hour was entirely worthwhile.
  • Brau Brothers Brewing! Not only are they going to be bottling beer, but they’ve finally got a website!
  • Breckenridge Brewery didn’t show. That’s two years in a row for those of you keeping track at home. If they sign up next year, I’m bringing a keg of my worst homebrew to serve in their place. Generally speaking, I like their beer, but c’mon… show up!
  • I knew Boulevard was getting big, but hiring a beer server in a short-cropped tight t-shirt seems a little more like something you’d see from the BMC crowd.
  • There were gallons upon gallons of good beer on tap. A few of my favorites included White Winter Winery’s Cyser & Blueberry Mead, Surly’s Darkness, Town Hall’s Thunderstorm & Twisted Reality, Fitger’s Cherry Batch, Wheatwine and Daisy Ale 8 and Schell’s cask Pale Ale and probably a bunch of others that I’m forgetting right now.

Thoughts? Comments?

Fitger’s Update

Another week begins and Fitger’s Brewhouse rolls out more barrels of beer! Here’s the skinny…

Greetings from Fitgers Brewhouse.
Dave here with a quick update on the new seasonals this week.

Cherry Ale 11 will be off on Thursday. We will release some Cherry Edmund Imperial Stout this Winter, but that is it for Cherry. Thank you for the amazing response to this unique ale
.
Replacing Cherry will be:

Wild Blue Lager 5.6%
A blueberry lager brewed malty and sweeter with Bayfield, WI blueberries.

Other new beers this week:

Daisy Ale 8 6.1%
Daisy is 8 so her yearly birthday ale comes to us.
A north shore style amber ale. Rich in malt fruit and body with an assertive hop flavor to balance.
Come and toast one of the brewer’s main inspirations.

St Stephens Abby 6.7%
A Belgian style amber ale. Rich yeast fruitiness with a smooth body and a filling finish. This beer will rotate with Hair O’ the Monk at the Red Star across the hall.

Thanks for your support. See you in Minneapolis at the Autumn Brew Review on Saturday.

(Hint) Special release of the last of the Cherry Beer during the festival.

Cheers,
