Does anyone have any photos from Arborfest? Jim needs a good shot or two for Great Lakes Brewing News, so if you have some good photos, let me know asap (ryan AT mnbeer.com) and I’ll get you in contact with one another.
Thanks!

Not to be outdone by some of the other Minnesota breweries and brewpubs with new tanks and equipment, Schell’s has added two more tanks. They’re not exactly small, either… 13,020 gallons…
And as a side note, I think the new recipe for Zommerfest is a hit. Yum.
Busy week for The Happy Gnome.
> Flat Earth’s Element 115 on tap (as of 1pm today).
> Also pouring through this weekend are several Big Sky Brewing beers that have only been available at the brewery until last night’s beer dinner.
> Ommegang’s Saison, Hennepin
> Belgian Flemish Red’s (sour ales) Rodenbach and Duchesse de Bourgogne (Du-chey day Ber-gOn)
> Also, next Tuesday night, they’ll be hosting the return of beers from Belgian brewer Sterkens at around 7pm with Brad “The Beer Guy” Magerkurth.
Cheers,

Psst. A description of Element 115, Flat Earth‘s newest beer has been added to their website:
UFO experts claim that this element combined with another element make UFOs fly. A true American style beer made with lager yeast fermented at warmer ale temperatures gives this beer a slight fruity character yet remains crisp and refreshing. It depends on whom you ask. Some will call it an West Coast lager, some a California Common and other still will say amber hybrid. We hopped this beer with four different west coast varieties of hops, Northern Brewer, Cluster, Simcoe and Mt. Hood.

Oh, and mostly unrelated… Arborfest is tonight. I’ll see you there.
