Hmmm. Groveland Tap is having their 2nd “Summit Summer Celebration” on the 21st of August from 6pm ’til close. $1 pints of Summit, music from 8-10pm, a raffle and cheap food. Sounds like a good time. Groveland Tap, by the way, is the #1 seller of Summit in the world.

Okay, so it’s not entirely beer-related, but a lot of MNBeer readers dig bikes, and of course we’re all down with the local thing. Hence, I’ve been digging Twin Six, a local company that designs cycling gear that deviates from the norm. Good stuff. To keep this beer-related, I suggest you check out the brewpub jersey, brewpub t-shirt… ladies, too… and of course they have pint glasses and coasters… the real question, though, is how much local beer could I fit in this bag?
Look for August Schell’s Octoberfest in stores later this month. You’ll also find it at the Renaissance Festival and the Minnesota State Fair.
Pop quiz… what’s the next seasonal beer that follows Octoberfest? Give up? It’s Snowstorm, and once-again, there’s a new recipe. This year’s Snowstorm will be a Belgian-style Dubbel that weighs in at about 7% abv. The beer is made with six malts, turbinado sugar and a crazy Belgian yeast. I bet this is going to be goooood this year..

Flat Earth’s first seasonal, Bermuda Triangle, a Belgian Tripel made with honey from the triangle (?!) will be release on August 21st at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul from 6 – 8 p.m. I’m anxious to try it. With any luck, I’ll see you there.
