12th Anniversary Week

This October Town Hall will celebrate its 12th Anniversary with a special beer release every day. Attend every release and be entered for your chance to win a trip to the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Additional details about the releases will be posted as it becomes available.

UPDATE:
No specific schedule has been released just yet, but you can expect to see Anniversary Ale, Three Hour Tour (Coconut Milk Stout), Czar Jack and Barrel Aged Twisted Reality Barleywine, in addition to other treats.

Surly Draft Truck @Stub & Herb’s

Wednesday, July 29th – debut of the Surly Draft Truck. Will be seen at all Gopher Home Football games, SurlyFest, select Vikings games (Green Bay – Monday night), Darkness Day, our parking lot, your neighborhood party.
See the draft truck in action Wednesday night at Stub & Herbs Bar at the U of MN. We are testing out its pouring capabilities. To entice you to come out, when you buy a Surly Beer for $5, you get a cheeseburger off the backyard grill. Hell Yeah, put that on the board. This deal lasts from 5-7 PM. Also, you can talk shit to Jon about his Southside White Sox. The bar manager – Jon – one of the first guys to puor our beer, likes the Sox. Stub & Herbs will also be raffling off a pair of Twins tickets. While that is going on, pick your favorite state brew, MN beers vs IL beers.

Great Taste Ticket Survey

Here’s your chance to let the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild, those lovely folks that present the Great Taste of the Midwest, know what you think about how they sell tickets to this event.

Mail order tickets are in the mail! This year, we filled about 40% of requests, up from 25% in 2008. Nearly 40% of mail order tickets went to Wisconsin residents, 40% to the states abuttung Wisconsin (IL, MI, IA and MN), and the rest went to 29 other states, Puerto Rico and Germany.

Please take the Great Taste of the Midwest Ticket Sales Survey to give us some feedback about how ticket sales went.

Great Waters Beer Dinner

Due to the wonderful feedback and great fun of our first beer dinner back in June, we’ve planned another. We’ve got a new 5 course menu ready to match with some late summer seasonals as well as some of our traditional favorites.

Tickets are $55 per person. MBA members $45. We will be limited to 50 tickets once again, so don’t procrastinate.

Course 1:
Arepas chicken tinga drizzled with cilantro aioli
Paired with the Golden Prairie Blonde
Course 2:
Chile-lime fruit & vegetable salad
Paired with the triumphant return of the Tighty Whitey Wit
Course 3:
Pork tenderloin with fried polenta and chorizo & corn salsa
Paired with the Brown Trout Brown Ale
Course 4:
Pistachio encrusted walleye with corn fritters and a yellow pepper & orange sauce
Paired with the Kaizerweizer Hefeweizen
Course 5:
Chocolate mosaic
Paired with the Blackwatch Oat Stout
