Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Where the Wild Beers are 2009

MNBeer contributor and all-around good guy Jeff Halvorson and Tim Stendahl are putting on another couple of “Where the Wild Beers Are,” events, and one just so happens to be taking place at Stub & Herb’s in Minneapolis on Saturday, September 26th. If wild beers are your thing, you should go. If wild beers aren’t your thing, you should consider going anyway. More details below and at http://www.wherethewildbeersare.com/

WHERE THE WILD BEERS ARE
2nd Annual Collaborative Sour/Wild Beer Festival
Saturday Sept 26th 12-6pm
Stub & Herb’s, Minneapolis

In addition to the Minneapolis date, we’ll be hosting this event in Brooklyn NY on August 30th.

Registration is required and now open. Full details at….

Some feedback and pics from last year here:

We’ll, as usual, have some special offerings, such as a limited amount of Cantillon Iris 2006 will be poured on draft and likely another special keg. All left over beer from last year’s event has been cellared and will be brought back to share this year.

Cheers,

Brewhouse Beer Monks at Renaissance Festival Sat. & Sun.

Brother Hoops sent us beautiful message on parchment paper announcing that the Brewhouse Monks would be down at the Renaissance Festival, 20-sided dice in hand*, pouring Fitger’s finest at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival this weekend from 11-5 on Saturday and Sunday. I can’t think of any better reasons to head over to the Renaissance Festival (aside from maybe Byggvir’s Big Beer Cup homebrew contest). Minnesota-made beer? Sounds like a winner to me!

*Slight apologies… perhaps I’m still bitter from being harrassed by women in peasant dresses in the skyway earler this week, but I still like to tease. Don’t get cranky… I’ve had drama-geek (whoops, there I go again) friends since high school and know that some of you secretly still play D & D and Shadowrun. You can make fun of my bicycle geekery if it makes you feel better. 🙂

Autumn Brew Review

I, for one, am looking forward to Autumn Brew Review. To be honest, It’s probably one of my favorite beer fests… a great mix of locals as well as some fun, out-of-state breweries. This year’s Autumn Brew Review will take place on Saturday, September 12th from 1-6pm (or noon-6pm if you have early access tickets) and will include food, music and of course a TON of good beer. It’s sold out… hopefully you scored tickets!
