Mulled Old Man Winter Warmer at The Blue Nile

Thanks Al… If I can swing it, I may just have to roll over to The Blue Nile on the 20th…

Have a keg of Lake Superior’s Old Man Winter Warmer I’ve been saving for a year. Gonna tap on Saturday the 20th of December, the day before the Winter Solstice…first day of winter, officially…and I’m gonna Wassail it. Gonna mull it, gonna spice it. At least cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, and possibly some fruit.

This will be available on tap as well, but I’m just gonna take some back to the stove, toss on the goodies, and mull it up. These will be available in hot drink glasses, for a reasonable price.

One of my bartenders cussed me out for messing up a great beer, but you will have a choice that day, messd-up or non-messed up. But, I guarantee a good mess!

Reminder: Winterfest Tickets on Sale Monday

If you want to attend this year’s Winterfest, you’ll have to fire up your computers and be online and ready to order by NOON on Monday, December 15th. This event will sell out and it’ll sell out quickly. Don’t miss out! There are only 700 tickets, so if you don’t get one, Monday, you’re probably outta’ luck. If I were to suggest one craft beer event in Minnesota, this would be the one.

Winterfest takes place on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 7-10pm at Minnesota History Center, 345 W. Kellog Blvd. in St. Paul.

Thursday December 11th we will be having our first annual Beer Geek Christmas.  We will be serving samples of various beers and other products throughout the course of the day, as well as giving away all sorts of goodies like shirts, glasses, other swag, and even a drawing for a few gift certificates’ to the store. This is a one day only sale, and it runs all day.
