Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Autumn Brew Review

The media/sponsor row at Autumn Brew Review usually isn’t too lively (barring that keg of Cantilon last year), so we’re attempting to do our part to keep it lively… at least for a half hour or so… If our plans work out, we’re hoping to do a “Name that Minnesota Beer” tasting, with prizes/swag for those who can correctly identify one of several beers. I just put out the request today and have had a few positive responses already, so it will most likely be a go.

Drinkers: Warm up your tastebuds. I’m thinking that we’ll do it at 2pm, so that your ‘buds aren’t burned out yet…

Brewers: I just re-read my e-mail. You’re certainly not required to take part, but people will make fun of you if you don’t.

Stub & Herb’s Pre-ABR Blowout

…or something like that. Jon at Stub & Herb’s promises a good week. My poor, poor liver…

We at Stub and Herb’s have put together a few events that may be of interest.

Monday September 22 at 7:PM we are happy to welcome the good people of Big Sky Brewing. Big Sky has reps in town for the ABR that weekend. They will be on hand to do a beer tasting and answer questions about their products. We will feature a very special Big Sky draft that night and offer great deals on Big Sky bottles.

Thursday September 25 at 7:PM we will have reps from Two Brother’s Brewing in house. They will conduct a beer tasting and answer any questions you may have. Two Brother’s Brewing is our featured brewery of the month. All Two Brother’s Drafts $3.50 all month.

THE FOLLOWING IS A BIG MAYBE.

Don’t be angry if it doesn’t happen. If they are approved by the govenment to distribute in MN in time, Dark Horse Brewing will also be present on Sept. 25. We will put a few Dark Horse products on draft for you to try for the first time in MN. My fingers are crossed.

We also have a cask of Oak Aged Surly Cynic that we will crack open at 7:PM on the 25th. New on draft this week: Left Hand Octoberfest, Avery Kaiser Octoberfest, Flying Dog Gonzo Porter and Flat Earth Convention Ale. We have a bunch more new stuff coming next week too. Please come help me drink some of it.

The last week in September should be busy. The entire week of the ABR, we will see a lot of brewery reps come to town for the event. We will try and pull as many of them into Stub’s for tastings as possible. I will keep you posted.

Thanks,
Jon
