Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Grain Belt Commercial Contest

It’s back! If you have a videocamera, some talent and some ideas, perhaps you should consider the “Make You Own Grain Belt Premium Commercial Contest!” Should you win first place, you get $1000 and a year’s supply of Grain Belt Premium. Second place winner gets $500 (which I’m sure you can spend on beer!), and third place gets $250. Not bad.

Once again, winners will be announced during the showing of entries at the Ritz Theater in Nordeast Mpls. on Wednesday, January 7th at 7:00 pm.

Where the Wild Beers Are…

Love the name, guys… In any case, I’ve been instructed to clear my calendar for August 17th and have done so… here’s why:

Attention WILD & SOUR BEER fans!

Introducing “WHERE THE WILD BEERS ARE”, a collaborative beer tasting presented by Twin Cities Imbiber and hosted by Stub and Herb’s Cocktails and Dining Emporium. Sunday August 17th beginning at 4pm.

This isn’t your typical beer tasting/festival. It is a group effort to celebrate the rare and wild, by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. We invite all fans of the funk to dig through their cellars and bring wild brews for all to share. We have already raided our cellars and are bringing ales such as Cantillon 50N-4E, 3 Fonteinen Doesjel, Cantillon Cuvee Des Champions, Rodenbach Classic, Hanssens Oude Gueuze, Panil Barrique (2005 & 2008) and much more to share.
