Ryan Anderson (that's me!) is the editor & founder of MNBeer. Much has changed since the fall of 2005 and I'm proud to have been a part of it all. Sometime I'll tell you about my grand theory that links craft brewing to punk rock. Just ask.

Like I Said, Beer is the Best Gift…

Hopefully everyone had a great holiday and received plenty beer and beer-related gifts. Among other things, I received some nice (huge) mugs from my mom as well as Ray Daniels’ Designing Great Beers, a nice thermometer and a growler pack from Town Hall. Much to my surprise, my brother’s girlfriend joined us on the 25th with a bunch of beer from New Glarus. Clearly, she’s a keeper… and she brings good beer. 🙂

PedalPub Update

One last post… warrior needs food… badly… you win a cookie if you remember that video game reference…

DECEMBER 2006

In our last newsletter, we asked you to help us pick some routes for the PedalPub, and many of you responded with GREAT ideas! We are pleased to let you know that we have scoped out four routes in Minneapolis:
* Calhoun/Lake of the Isles
* Nordeast (Pub Crawl Route)
* Nicollet Mall
* St. Anthony Main

If you’d like to see a map of these routes, we have added them to our website. Surf to http://www.PedalPub.com to check them out.

We are still on schedule for accepting delivery of the PedalPub from the Netherlands on March 1. There’s a bike conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center on March 3, so we’re hoping that we can accomplish any “assembly” that might be necessary once it arrives, and have it on the streets that weekend for it’s grand unveiling. We’re still working on having it in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in St. Paul too, but we’ve been told it’s a “walking” parade, except for parade dignitaries. I can’t think of a better “float” for dignitaries in a St. Pat’s Day parade than a PUB ON WHEELS, so we’re still working that!

We have started this “Friends of the PedalPub” to keep you informed of our progress—and in an attempt to continue to tap your amazing creativity and talent. We will probably send out an email about once every two weeks or so. If you want to be REMOVED from the list, just drop us a note and we’ll take you off. If you know anyone else who would like to get on our list, have them send an email to:
INFO@PEDALPUB.COM

YOUR NEXT ASSIGNMENT (should you choose to accept it….):
Do you know people (or know people who know people) on the Minneapolis Park Boards? Minneapolis Police or Fire Departments? Minneapolis City Council? We want to meet with them to let them know what we plan, so that we don’t run into any bureaucratic or legal entanglements once we get on the road. If you can introduce us to any of these types, send an email to us at: INFO@PEDALPUB.COM

Thanks!

Fitger’s Update

Sorry, I’m slacking… to much eggnog… er wild beer…

Greetings and Happy Holidays
It’s Monday December 18th so the Brewhouse will release Blitzen’s Blueberry Porter today.
Blitzen’s is a once a year beer brewed to celebrate the holidays. We brew a dark chocolate porter then add 660 lbs of wild blueberries. We let these flavors make freinds and the result is one of the Brewhouse’s more popular ales. Stop down for a growler, BUT REMEMBER NO GROWLER SALES ON SUNDAY…this year Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday.

Other new Beer releases this week:

White Pine Lager 5.7%
An amber, vienna style North Shore lager. Rich in malt flavor and full in body with the usual lager smoothness from long quiet months on the cellar.

Amsterdam Ale 6.0%
We used Belgian strong golden ale yeast to brew this batch of Amsterdam. The result is a bit more dry ale, with a very nice fruit middle and a quenching tangy finish.

Castle Danger 6.1%
A Burton-on-Trent style pale ale. All English malts and hops, slightly lower hopping rates and the typical round fruit the yeast brings too the table.

Cask Ale : Starfire

Town Hall Holliday Hours
