Curious about what breweries are attending? Music? More? We’ve updated our post on ABR and you can check it out here…
BONUS: Michael Jackson (again, the one we liked) had some remarks on beer at the very first Autumn Brew Review here (thanks Dave…)

I remember that event. It was a great time.
This was actually an event at Sherlock’s, not the ABR. I thought it was the year before the first ABR, but then the dates don’t match up.
One more thing–it’s kind of sad to see that we had more brewpubs in MN in 2000 than we do in 2007.

On the upside, think of the high quality of the brews being crafted by Minesota’s brewpubs in 2007, think of the customer loyalty to the same, and lastly think of the increase in the number of craft brewers in the state since circa 2000. This would be thinking in terms of ‘quality over quantity’, and by these terms I’d say that the state of craft brewing in Minnesota is better than ever!
I guess I’m the eternal pessimist, because in the year 2000 we still had:
Sherlock’s
2 Hops
Vine Park
Water Tower
Harwell’s
Union Station
O’Hara’s
James Page
That’s a lot of breweries gone in seven years. I’d also have to agree with Mr Jackson that the quality in 2000 was pretty high also. That has never really been the issue.
I miss Sherlock’s Home a lot. Early in our marriage, my wife and I – who tend to eat at the places in nearby neighborhoods to our house – would make a point to go out to Sherlock’s for bitter and masala on a regular basis.
