Buster’s Brunch

As of December 1st, Buster’s on 28th is now serving brunch Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 2 pm. The brunch menu is a combination of breakfast items and selections from their regular menu. Mag and I both had the bacon, egg and cheese croissant today and if it’s any indication of how they do breakfast, rush on over!

Buster’s also has a weekly beer special. This week was Summit’s Winter Ale (ending today, but I would suspect it will remain on tap for a while) and starting tomorrow Arcadia London Porter will be the beer of the week.

MNBeer welcomes The Craftsman to our taps list

MNBeer is pleased to announce that we’ve added The Craftsman to our “MN Taps” list. The Craftsman has a small but respectable list of craft beer from Minnesota and beyond. Additionally, their menu is local growers and producers, so you know they get our respect.

Additionally, Liz from the The Happy Gnome has agreed to keep us up to date on  what’s on tap at the Happy Gnome, so you can look to MNBeer once again for timely tap updates.

Three Imperial Stouts on tap at Blue Nile tonight

Al puts it best:

Hey Gang,
Friday, I’m getting a keg of Expedition Stout, …and Darkness is still on, …and there’s that keg of Old Rasputin  that’s been waiting in the cooler for it’s turn on tap. So, what the hell, one night only, I’m going to have all three on tap at once, …have a flight, or a vertical, or a blindfold taste test, whatever you want to do.The Expediton and Ol’ Rasp, if they aren’t killed that night, will go back on later, but they will only all three be on tap together Friday. They are temporarily taking over the Summit annd Rush River spots. Time: whenever. The rb goes are coming at 6:30, but if anyone shows up for it at, say, 4:15, I’ll tap ’em then.

See ya,
cheers,
al

Duvel USA beer promo at The Bulldog Lyndale next Tuesday Dec 4th

While it doesn’t go with the MNBeer “drink only MN beer” mantra, this was too good to not pass along…

Tuesday December 4th 6 pm – close. The Bulldog Lyndale. 1/2 off all Duvel USA beers. That includes Duvel, Rodenbach, Maredsous & Brewery Ommegang. Tom Gardner from Duvel USA will be in attendance. Food specials will also be available. That means $3.50 Duvel and $2.50 Hennepins, not to mention the price on all the other Duvel products. The only thing not enclosed is a cab service phone number.  Enjoy!

Tambourine free zones…

Friends and I met early for drinks at the Happy Gnome last night. The service was excellent, as was the food (Duck Bruschetta… mmm!) and the beer (and I resisted anything from outside of our fair state, sans a pour of Rodenbach). Catching up with friends is always a good thing, and the addition of good beer and good food didn’t hurt anything.

The bar was a little busy (after all, it’s Saturday night) and people were having a difficult time finding a place to sit. There were more than a few people standing around waiting for a table in the bar. Suddenly a black party bus pulls up, and probably twenty people file out. Probably not the best choice on their part, but I guess I can’t blame someone for wanting a drink at the ‘Gnome. Of course I can, and will blame them with some sort of crime for bringing a tambourine into the bar. It would seem that no one told them that the ‘Gnome is obviously a tambourine-free zone. Duh.

The party bus (and it’s tambourine) left after a drink and a photo with a gnome. Thank God. Oddly enough, the bathroom signs disappeared at the same time as well. I had waited for the crowd to clear before navigating my way to the restroom and had to do a double-take when I found only double-sided tape on the bathroom doors. Thanks assholes.

If there any gnomes missing from said bar, one can only guess that they’d be found in a black party bus. Ugh.
