MacKenzies MCBW Events

We’ve been flooded with emails about Craft Beer Week events from our friends in the industry, and as sometimes happens, we miss a couple things. As they say, better late than never.

Here’s what the good folks at MacKenzies are offering up for the remainder of the week:

Wed., May 18th: Summit @ 6 pm – Cask Gold Sovereign and $3.00 pints all day of Pilsner, Oatmeal Stout, EPA.

Thurs., May 19th:  Deschutes @ 6 pm – Abyss Imperial Stout, Jubel 2010, Hop Henge XIPA

Fri., May 20th:  New Belgium – Abbey Grand Cru, Fat Tire Super Cru, Lips of Faith Le Terrior and $3.00 all day for Somersault (draft), Fat Tire and 1554 bottles

MN Craft Beer Week Bicycle Pub Crawl Saturday

The ride begins at Cafe Twenty-Eight for breakfast and a special Surly offering at 10 AM. Then roll off to Busters on 28th, Pracna on Main, the Nomad and end at Stanley’s NE for  a Schell’s tent party. Answer trivia questions at each stop for a chance to win 2 growlers per month for a year from Town Hall Brewery.

To participate, all you need is bike and helmet. To participate in the prize drawing, you’ll need your MN Beer Week Passport.

Sour Blending Seminar

Lanny Hoff from Artisanal Imports will be doing a free sour ale blending seminar at Bulldog NE at 6pm on Monday, May 16 as part of their Sour Ale Fest May 16-17. He’ll be working with unblended old and new Cuvee de Jacobin and attendees will be tasting several different blends of the two, as well as the real finished product.

9 different sour ales from Belgium as well as American craft breweries will be available on tap.

Brau Bros Firkin at Stanley’s

If you find yourself on the other end of town but craving a firkin fix, check out Stanley’s. They’ll be tapping a firkin of oak-aged Forgotten Flem* from Brau Brothers. Plus, a Brau will, “be there talking smart with answers to everything you wanted to know about Lucan but were afraid to ask.”

*Forgotten Flem is a dry, hoppy, fruity Belgian Saison brewed with rye and 50+ IBUs of hoppy goodness.
