In addition to enjoying craft beer during American Craft Beer Week, Stub and Herb’s, courtesy of Midwest Homebrewing Supplies, will be giving you the opportunity to learn about brewing your own. Midwest will be outside brewing and happy to answer questions about homebrewing. So that you don’t have to go broke (or thirsty) during your edumacation, Stub and Herb’s will run happy hour pricing all day.
After enjoying some of Town Hall’s Wheat, carefully make your way across the street (or if you want to provide some great, live entertainment for those out on the patio, dart in and out of traffic while crossing) to Preston’s Urban Pub. They will have reps from Deschutes Brewing on hand and will be featuring discounts on all West Coast beers.
Kick-off American Craft Beer Week starting with the release of Town Hall’s American Craft Beer Wheat.
For the 2010 American Craft Beer Week (May 17-23) we will be joining the activities of the American Homebrewers Association’s Big Brew event. We are teaming up with Fitger’s Brewhouse in Duluth to brew in tandem a wonderful recipe. The style is a refreshing American Wheat that will ferment quickly, is as flavorful as it is thirst quenching, and is a perfect beer to welcome in the warm weather months.
This recipe is based on the American wheat beer recipe found in the new Brewers Publications book Brewing with Wheat: The ‘Wit’ and ‘Weizen’ of World Wheat Beer Styles by Stan Hieronymus. The book will be available in spring 2010.
Town Hall will be pouring both their version of this Wheat ale as well as Fitger’s Brewhouse. We will have special edition glass (while supplies last) for this event. For $10 you will get to keep the special glass filled with a 20oz pour of our wheat ale, and as a bonus you will also receive a complimentary 10oz pour of the Fitger’s Brewhouse version.
Lets raise a toast to all the craft breweries across this country who continually push each other to produce beer among the finest in the world.
Cheers!
For Acadia Cafe’s Beer & Beast this month, they’ll be serving up a cask of Summit Horizon Red Ale dry-hopped with Glacier, and paired with a spiced shish kabob. Mmmmmmm…
$3/pint or $10 for the beer AND the beast
