Beer & Cheese

There’s no doubt beer and cheese can be a match made in heaven. And yes, the Viking’s rivals to our east do a good job of producing both, but we’ve got winners of our own, right down in Faribault in fact.

It’s been nearly a year since the fine folks at Faribault Dairy started working with Summit to meld their two products into one. This time around it’s Oktoberfest Blau. A blend of St. Pete’s Select Blue Cheese soaked in Summit Oktoberfest can be found at select stores and restaurants around town.

If you happen to be in the Faribault area, don’t miss a stop at The Cheese Cave, a retail outlet, including beer taps.

Once upon a midday dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten beer–While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my brewery door.”‘Tis some visiter,” I muttered, “tapping at my brewery door–Only this and nothing more.”

Finding Fulton

Can’t make it to Fulton’s release party Wednesday night? Hoping to win the title of biggest fan? Either way, here are some more places you can catch up with the Fulton brewers this week.

Acadia Cafe, 4-7 p.m. Thursday (during happy hour)
Stub & Herb’s 6 p.m.-ish Saturday (CORRECTED: AFTER the Gopher game’s kick-off)

Or if you just want to get a taste of their brew, it should be on tap The Happy Gnome, The Muddy Pig, Stub & Herb’s, Acadia Cafe, Bryant lake Bowl, Edina Grill and 3 Squares.

Where is Darkness

*edit*

Surly is reporting that Darkness is hitting bars this week, and liquor stores in bottles the week of Nov 2. They also noted that “because delivery dates are so varied to liquor stores, they are not going to post a list of stores that are getting the beer delivered.”

While this thread is going on over at BA, I thought I’d spread the good word to MnBeer-ers. (Don’t you love to have to check two websites to check now?! Like you weren’t already….)

Besides in bottles in my basement, which fine drinking establishments will be serving Darkness over the coming weeks?

On tap now:

Coming up:

We’ll do our best to keep adding to the list as they come in. Liquor stores, feel free to chime in as you learn your fate.
