Surly Goes to Hell

SurlySo Surly has a new beer hitting the scene, Surly Hell, a Munich Helles. This is certainly old news to anyone that either regularly checks out the Brewer’s Blog over at Surly Brewing, or anyone who was at the Great Taste of the Midwest. Clearly, I’m not one of those.

From the Brewer’s Blog:

Walk with me in Hell
Aug 02, 2008
Ok not really a walk, but a drink of Surly Hell!
Sandy, Beaner and I brewed a single batch of a Munich Helles.
Basically a German style light lager….yea…yea …..Surly Light…get it?
Check it out at the Great Taste in Madison next weekend.
Draft only, so look for this beer at your favorite Surly draft bar in a couple/three weeks.

Lift Bridge Brewery Batch 0

liftbridgebrewery.jpgMinnesota’s newest microbrewery, Lift Bridge Brewery, will be at Flat Earth Brewing Co. in St. Paul today (Thursday), brewing their first batch of beer for distribution, Farm Girl Saison. Join them for a toast to celebrate just before 5:00 pm. Flat Earth will be open from 4:00 – 6:00 for growler sales.

Let’s give a warm welcome to our newest brewery. I wish them the very best of luck! Dan tells me that they’ll be at Autumn Brew Review, and I look forward to trying their beer.
