ABR Wrap

Did you have a good time at Autumn Brew Review? I did. A few quick highlights for me:

– A successful, entertaining “Name that Minnesota Beer” put together by the MNBeer.com/Twin Cities Imbiber crew. I’m guessing we had 50+ brave contestants. Well done!

– We gave out our bottle opener with a suggested donation to the Minnesota Craft Brewer’s Guild. We passed off about $60 to the popcorn crew. Thank you!

– Lots of good beer. I was particularly happy to finally get around to tryingthe beers from Lift Bridge Brewery. I enjoyed them! Lots of other very good beers too!

– I think the layout was the bet yet.

– Good food, good music, good people…

Well done!

McCann’s Autumn Brew Review Lineup

McCann’sHere goes… Chris also has keg-hopped Euro Pils on tap right now at McCann’s. Drink up!

Keg Hopped Deep Seven
I load handfuls of leaf hops in a keg and top it off with our house IPA. Hop heaven!

Flame
A strong amber ale aged on toasted french oak with organic Flame raisins and an artfull blend of exotic sugars. Like nothing you have tried before! Available only here at the Autumn Brew Review (for now).

Ghost Rider Pumpkin Ale
I add pumpkin in the mash of this light amber ale, then steep our secret blend of spices to the brew kettle to remind you of grandma’s favorite pumpkin pie recipe. A perfect ale for harvest time in Minnesota.

Middle Town Braun
Brewed with large amounts of Munich malt, with smaller portions of dark crystal and chocolate malts. Balanced toffee/caramel notes with a light roasted background. A nice session beer we like to drink out of liter mugs at the brew pub.

Euro Pils
Brewed with 100% of the highest quality pilsner malt and Saaz hops from the Czech Republic. This golden lager is aged slowly at just above freezing for a clean, crisp finish. I LOVE saaz hops, so I add fresh Saaz hops to the fermenter during aging, resulting in a wonderful floral aroma and a thirst quenching finish.

Rocktoberfest Kickoff

Rock BottomI rarely get to Rock Bottom, as I rarely get to downtown Minneapolis. But next Thursday I’m hitting a show at First Ave (Neko Case if you’re interested), and it’s coincidentally RB’s Rocktoberfest release party! Plus, I’ll finally be able to try their Catcher in the Rye and Saison (if they’re not gone), two of my favorite styles of late.

Rocktoberfest Kickoff!
Join Brewer Bryon Tonnis on Thursday, September 18 as we kick off another Oktoberfest season with the tapping of our Rocktoberfest Marzen Bier at 6pm
Stop by for a complimentary pint and “toast the fest” with Rock Bottom…PROST!
