January MNBeer of the Month: Summit Winter Ale

SummitAfter careful deliberation and many pints, we’ve chosen Summit Winter Ale as our January beer of the month. The cold weather of January is a wonderful time for this dark, malty winter warmer. The beer nerd in me wants to note hints of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt.

This beer is tasty in both the bottle and on tap, but it really shines as a cask-conditioned beer. I had the pleasure of enjoying it at the Groveland Tap mid-December and was floored at the complexity of flavor and aroma. Smooth, creamy and oh-so-tasty. Another great Minnesota-made beer.

Schell’s Stout and Calendar of Events!

Schell’sAs was posted some time back, Schell’s had made some changes to their website.  They continue to do so.  The News & Events tab is a bit more robust than in the past, which is exciting.  Check it out.  Highlights include news that in March Schell’s will be bringing back their 2006 vintage Snowstorm as Schell’s Stout.  Additionally, they’ve added a number of dates to their calendar of events.  February looks to be a very busy month for Schell’s staff and fans.
