Are you a brewer? Microbiologist? Beer fanatic? You will fit right in at Summit Brewing on September 11th for the ASBC hosted LABS (Local Area Brewing Science) Meeting! We are kicking off the meeting with two great presentations—first, Avi Shayevitz who is a researcher at Lallemand—a global leader in the development, production and marketing of yeast, bacteria and specialty ingredients. This presentation will cover brewer’s yeast, proper yeast handling, cell counting, and will even dip into some of their genetically modified yeast strains! The second presenter hails from the historic south-central MN town of New Ulm—Jace Marti, the sixth-generation brewer at Schell’s Brewery will be sharing his knowledge of fermentation and take a dive into his sour program. If we are lucky, there might even be a couple samples to try during his presentation.
Along with the presentations, attendees can expect 1 pint of beer on the house with each additional beer available at a discounted rate. There will also be food provided!
