Flat Earth September Update

Here’s an update from our friends at Flat Earth Brewing Company. A synopsis: Cygnus X-1 Canadian Porter, BOTTLING LINE, tour, etc. Did I mention that they have a bottling line?!? Mmm. Flat Earth… in my fridge!

Do you know what is great about owning your own brewery? We can make a beer just because we want to. With that said we plan to release Cygnus X-1, a Canadian Porter, just in time for our favorite band, Rush, to hit the stage at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center! What is Canadian Porter you ask? Well, we took an old English porter recipe and added rye, a Canadian whiskey’s most important ingredient, to create our own version of a “Canadian porter.” It will be available at some bars near the Xcel Energy Center this weekend. Keep an eye on the website for the bars carrying Cygnus X-1 and grab a pint before the concert.

The bottling line is here and we will bottle the Belgian Pale Ale as soon as we can. Look for the Belgian to be in stores later this month. Our other beers will be slowly added to the list of bottled beers. If we have some left we may even try to get some of the Bermuda Triangle and Cygnus X-1 in to bottles before it disappears.

Check out the September issue of Twin Cities Business magazine for an article on Flat Earth Brewing and see why we were selected best beer news in 2007.

Our next tour is Saturday the 22nd at 1 p.m. please us the entrance in the parking lot.

September is filling up with fun beer events. The Belgian Pale Ale will be available every weekend out at the Renaissance Festival. On the 8th the MN Homebrewer’s Association will be holding their monthly meeting at the brewery. On the 23rd we will pouring our beers at the MNFashion show (www.mnfashion.org/fw07/rectangle.html). And of course, we finish the month with Autumn Beer Review on the 29th. Do you have your tickets yet? If not check out www.mncraftbrew.org/abr/ for all of the details.

Thank you for your continued support.
