Lake Superior Brewing is one of 2 people that cause the bill that would have allowed places like Great Waters, Barley John’s, and Rock Bottom to sell kegs for off sale, not to pass. Because of this, many pubs are now pulling Lake Superior beers from their line-ups. Join the boycott of Lake Superior Brewing.

  2. Chris says:

There’s a boycott? What bars have pulled Lake Superior beers? I haven’t seen any changes.

Really, who? I haven’t noticed any decline.

    What pubs?

I would hope that before anyone starts boycotting Minnesota breweries, they’ve done their homework, and perhaps even spoken with the breweries in question. Our craft brew scene is much too small in Minnesota to start pulling punches without the whole story. I’m not accusing or defending anyone, (and you may well have the full scoop on everything), but I think it’s a good idea to exercise caution before boycotting one of the few breweries in this state.

    who is this…”anonymous” anyway?
best not to judge LSBC before knowing the entire story…

  6. ryan says:

I’m not entirely pleased with the “anonymous” option for comments on, but Blogger basically has two options… either you force everyone to have blogger accounts or allow people to comment with a name (via the “Other” checkbox) or “anonymous.” Why you can’t disallow anonymous, I don’t know. In any case, I’m planning on making the move to a full-fledged setup for content management which should hopefully fix this annoyance.

    Barley Johns sells Mesabi Red.

  8. Thanks to those who came by. The tasting went very well, with the Oatmeal Stout “winning” with most beer sold. It has a following in the East African community.

We have never been widely supported
and I thank those who help to keep
all Minnesota breweries open. I’m not going to let the rantings of a semi-literate coward get to me.

If anyone has questions about anything involving LSB please give
us a call/ email or better yet stop by the brewery and have a beer with us.

The legislative process is fortunatley a lot more complex than one may think, and its likely that more went into the provision being removed than simply 2 breweries opposing it.
