MNBeer 2.0

We’ve begun planning for version 2.0 of MNBeer. We have a few ideas and tricks up our sleeves as well as plans for making use of a more robust CMS. We’ve had a few requests for a forum/bb as well as expansion of the MNTaps section to include at least some of the bars serving great beers in Minnesota. What do you think? What would you like to see added to MNBeer?

One of the main reasons I visit MNBeer.com is to find out what’s happening where and when. While this info is great in post-format, how about also having it in a calendar of events?

I also love the idea of updated beer lists from good bars, especially since most of them don’t include it on their own websites.

I second eric’s comments. The main reason visit MNBeer is for news on events so the calendar would be nice. An updated beer list for good bars would be another reason to check in here more frequently, but I can also see how it would be hard to keep it accurate.

Ask and you shall receive! A calendar setup will definitely be part of the new CMS. That’s something I’ve wanted to add and improve.

Perhaps we’ll take baby steps in adding bars with good beers. If we can get the participation from the bar itself or it’s loving patrons, it might be worthwhile.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Ryan, FYI the new Happy Gnome website will be going live within the week. It also features an RSS feed for the beer lists (might need to tweak it a bit), so that might be your first “good bar”. I’ll also have an RSS feed for Great Waters soon.

I’m so excited that the Gnome website is *finally* going up. It has so much potential, as, IMO, the best high end beer bar in the region. Looking forward to it!
