Maibock Release at Town Hall

Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, great for lager lovers, and the Kentucky Derby, great for mint julep lovers, but it’s also a great day for Maibock lovers at Town Hall.

This Saturday marks the annual release of the Maibock. What does this mean you may ask? Well, deep in the cold months of winter we brew this fine German style lager……the Blonde Bock. Our annual release has grown to signify the start of summer for Town Hall Brewery, and it has become kind of a customer appreciation day for us. We invite you to come to Town Hall Brewery and annual our traditional Blessing of the Bock. We have a man of the cloth come and bless your beer and we at THB extend complimentary Maibock to you from 5-6pm on that day. Blessing will be shortly after 5pm , complimentary Maibock Lager until 6pm. Come and enjoy the event this Saturday.

Pint clubbers- our weekly pint club reception will be cancelled this coming Saturday, as we will be offering you complimentary Maibock from 5-6pm

Prosit!

Whatcha’ Doing Tonight?

Tonight’s a busy night for beer. Take your pick… or hit all three!

1. The Beer Dabbler is having a Ticket Presale Party at Tiffany’s in St. Paul. You can buy your tickets for The Beer Dabbler at Twin Cities’ Pride Fest in Minneapolis (June 22nd) and/or The Beer Dabbler at Highland Fest in St. Paul (July 21st) and save $5. As a bonus, Tiffany’s is having a Sam Adams tap takeover featuring 14 beers and flights of 4 for $7. Beers include their Grumpy Monk, Belgian Session, Griffin Bow, Norse Legend and other special releases. 6-9pm, tickets on sale at 7pm.

2. The Nomad World Pub’s Midweek Beer Geek is 6-9pm and will feature Abita’s St. Gleason’s Imperial Red. As per usual, Minnesota Beer Activists will be in attendance and the Brewbicle crew will be on hand to showcase their products and give one away to one lucky winner.

3. Minneapolis/St. Paul Beer School has their final event of the quarter (semester?) tonight at Republic in Minneapolis which will feature some special, yet-to-be-named beers. Pay them a visit and you’ll also have a chance to check out Republic’s newly-expanded draft selection.

There’s no reason to be bored tonight. Forget reality TV, you need a beer!

Brewed Awakening Book Events & Giveaway

Joshua Bernstein, author of Brewed Awakening, will be making a couple of stops in Minnesota this week for a couple of events. Joshua interviewed me a few years ago for a piece on up and coming craft beer cities for Imbibe magazine and edited appropriately so I didn’t sound stupid, so he must be a good guy, right? In any case, Brewed Awakening is his take on the craft beer revolution and features several Minnesota breweries. (See below).

Plus, just because we love you, if you leave a comment regarding your own “brewed awakening,” we’ll pick one winner at random and shoot them a copy of Joshua’s book. Be sure to include a valid email (don’t worry, it doesn’t get posted or shared) for a chance to win.
