Brau Brothers in Beer Advocate

Check out the cover of the latest Beer Advocate, featuring none other than Brau Brothers‘ hop yard. Pretty nice. I haven’t read the issue (Can we still get it free anywhere?!), but it’s cool to see the Brau’s getting some attention from the big guys. Cheers!

Thursday Roundup

It’s Thursday, are you thirsty? If you’re looking to grab a beer (or two or three) tonight here are some places you might want to consider.

4:30 – 5:30
Say hi at the Pracna on Main bar for a free Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Wild or Lake Superior Mesabi Red.

Kill the Keg at Stub & Herb’s is featuring Magic Hat HEX and $5 will get you a bottomless glass until the keg kicks.

Buster’s on 28th has just put on a keg of Tea-bagged Furious.

And finally, for those of you considering hitting downtown Minneapolis, the parking meters aren’t being enforced due to the Veteran’s Day holiday.

Old Man Winter in the Ale Jail

What!? Back-to-back tastings in the same week at the Ale Jail?! Tonight, Lake Superior Old Man Winter will be open for tasting from 5-8 p.m. This is a pretty limited brew, so get it while you can!

(My guess Adam is opening these anyway and just wants the company…I’ll drink to that!)

From the brewery:

“Old Man Winter Warmer – When it comes to spreading cheer, this Old Man doesn’t mess around. Brewed in late spring and aged in our refrigerator until mid Fall, this barley wine style ale brings a whopping 10.3% ABV to the task. Deep brown and sweet with spices, Old Man Winter Warmer does what its name promises for your nose and your belly.”
