Surly to Collaborate with I Love This Bar & Grill

I spoke with Omar last night and apparently Surly is set to collaborate with the soon-to-open I Love This Bar & Grill at Shops at West End in St. Louis Park. Surly has been developing three house beers for the bar, owned by country musician Toby Keith. Look for Surly Shit-Kicker, Piss on Chevy and Red, White and Blue at the bar’s opening later this year.

Shit-Kicker is a nod to Keith’s experience playing bars in the late early 90s, “Toby wanted a beer that reminded him of some of his favorites from the time, so we looked to Red Dog, Red Wolf and Old Style’s ‘Red Style’ for inspiration.” says Ansari. “And then we did our own thing.”

Piss on Chevy is a Classic American Pilsner, brewed with “Lotsa’ corn and rice from the heartland,” says Keith. “I was a little leery about using ‘piss’ in the name, but the guys insisted.”

Red, White and Blue is a “fancy” beer, according to Keith, brewed with lots of wheat and infused with cherry and blueberry extract. “For the girls mostly,” he laughs.

If the product catches on, Keith plans to roll them out in all of his bars.

Ngon Patio Opening

I don’t know that any of us need an excuse to have lunch out on the patio but in case you were looking for a place to do it, Ngon Bistro has some pretty tempting drinks and food to lure you over to their beautiful, serene patio.

The forecast for tomorrow is 77 degrees and we’re opening our patio during lunch tomorrow. We are tapping our Ginger Honey Girl cask from Lift Bridge. We also have Flat Earth’s apricot pale, Sunburst, that pairs very nicely with some warm rays.

Enjoy it with our lunch feature; House-cured anise bacon BLT with hand-cut sweet potato fries and spicy aioli.

Cheers, Hai

Enjoy Town Hall’s Patio & Then Watch Baseball

Well, the patio is open and the wheat beer is flowing- life is good! Guess what, Twins game already on Friday! If you were used to parking on Seven Corners, drinking a pint at Town Hall, and walking to the dome for the big game I have great news for you…..you still can! There will be a shuttle to every (home) game this season at the fancy new stadium. All you have to do is park in your favorite spot on Sevens Corners and look for the black party bus parked in across the street and catch a ride- that’s it really. You can take a roady on the bus and not worry about anything, pretty cool huh? Bus will be around two hours before the game-

Just remember who your buddy is—

That’s right Town Hall Brewery
