Town Hall Hefe Release

Nudge your summer beer taste buds out of hibernation and head on down to Town Hall on Monday.

Well we believe the time has come –

This coming Monday 4/13 we are going to release the first Hefeweizen of the season. The weather dude says 60 degrees…..I think if you all come to drink wheat beer we can get 65 or 70! See you Monday at the 5pm release.

The Germans like to call wheat beer “breakfast beer”. John is going to make you an omelet for your small plate. Really, eggs are great with wheat beer…. come check it out for yourself.

Cheers!
Mike

Tonight’s Growler Selection

They only come once a week and tonight’s the night…Flat Earth growlers!

Available 3:30 – 6:30 Thursday, April 9th:
Belgian Pale Ale
Sunburst Pale Ale – Apricot infused Belgian Pale Ale
Cygnus X-1 Porter
Northwest Passage IPA

Buy one, buy ’em all but once they’re gone you’ll have to wait until next week to get your fix. (And in the meantime, don’t you have that Easter meal to attend that would be so much better with some fine craft brew?)

Arborfest!

Hey you! Yeah you… the person over there who hasn’t been to a big beer event since Autumn Brew Review… we know you missed out on Winterfest and you’re looking to enjoy some good beers with good people. Door prizes? A benefit for a good cause?! Why not…

May 1st will be here before you know it… thankfully, tickets for Arborfest are still available. You should get yours now… like right now. Read on for a little more information about Arborfest:

Family Tree Clinic will host their 9th annual Arborfest in St. Paul, MN on Friday, May 1 from 5:30 PM – 9 PM. Arborfest is a local craft beer sampling fundraiser benefiting the Family Tree Clinic of St. Paul, Minnesota. The evening will feature the best locally hand-crafted beers to sample from over 16 local breweries and brewpubs, live music, tasty eats, a raffle that includes beer swag, and non-alcoholic drinks.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Family Tree Clinic. Family Tree Clinic’s mission is to provide quality, affordable, confidential reproductive and sexual health care services to diverse communities. “Arborfest is a great opportunity to have fun with your friends while giving back to the community by supporting the clinic’s work” says Deb Wilkens-Costello, Executive Director of Family Tree Clinic.

Begun in 2000, Arborfest has become the “spring” event to attend in St. Paul. It allows people to come together in support of a valuable community resource while at the same time satisfying their interest in tasting and learning about what is new on the local craft beer-brewing scene.

Participating Breweries: August Schell Brewing Co., Barley Johns Brew Pub, Brau Bros. Brewing Co., Finnegans Irish Amber, Fitgers Brewhouse, Flat Earth Brewing Co., Great Waters Brewing Co., The Herkimer, Lift Bridge Beer Co., Mantorville & St. Croix Brewing Cos., Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery, Rock Bottom Brewery – Mpls, Summit Brewing Co., Surly Brewing Co., Tyranena Brewing Co., and more!

WSJ & Beer?!

For those of you unfortunate souls who don’t have the luxury of sitting on your soft butts in expensive chairs, feet comfortably propped up on disregarded Ponzi-scheme proposals, eating doughnuts and drinking fru-fru coffee purchased with TARP money, idly chatting about the plight of the common man, and perusing the daily paper favored by fat-cat financiers (the Wall Street Journal) like myself, I’d like to point you to a pretty good article in today’s online WSJ focusing on Lambics.  I’d like to thank Half-Caff-Double-Donut-Frazier for bringing this to my attention.  It’s got nothing to do with Minnesota Beer, but it does make for a good read and I hope you enjoy it.  I’ve seen an increasing number of craft beer related stories in the WSJ and similar periodicals.  I guess that means it’s a legitimate industry for today’s Gordon Gekko to exploit.  Interestingly enough, many of the more recent stories have touched on the relative health of the craft beer industry in the broad economic malaise.
