It’s been a while since I’ve been up to St. Cloud for a beer, but Chris from O’Hara’s let us know that Dubbel Trouble is their current seasonal beer. Not surprisingly, it’s a Belgian dubble brewed with Belgian pale ale and specialty malts as well as dark Belgian candi sugar. It should come as no surprise that their second batch is about ready to be tapped as it is O’Hara’s most popular seasonal beer. Others seem to like it as well as it won Best of Show at the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild’s Winter Fest in 2001.

Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery will be releasing Festivus 2005 on Wednesday, December 14th. Pints will be a buck from 5-6 pm. Festivus 2005 is a Chocolate Mint Stout brewed with real mint leaves and high quality chocolate powder (not Swiss Miss packs!).

What is Festivus, you might ask? Look no further than Wikipedia for answers.

Well whaddya’ know, Surly Brewing Company has updated its website. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to getting Surly… heheh.

Tonight Minneapolis Town Hall is releasing their Little Dog Pale Ale, said to be the younger sibling of their Big Dog Double IPA that was released back in February. This time around, there should be a heavy dose of Columbus and Cascade hops… hopheads rejoice!

From 5-6 (today only!) pints of Little Dog will be $1.00.

A number of people seemed to be having difficulties ordering Winterfest tickets through the Ticketworks website. Some reported having luck with calling Ticketworks. Their website is now reporting that the tickets are SOLD OUT. Being the nice guy that I am, I gave Ticketworks a call, and the rep. I spoke with said that the tickets were indeed sold out. A couple of other people have also confirmed getting the same message.

I guess it just goes to show how rabid we Minnesotans are for good beer. Winterfest sold out in less than an hour!
