  2. Kris says:

Lift Bridge did originally name their pale ale Drifter, however Widmer bought the name from them.

Uh, now thats interesting…went from Pioneer to Drifter (briefly) to…? Its also interesting that Widmer is calling their Drifter beer a pale ale with a twist, which is what I thought LBs Pioneer/Drifter/? is. Probably have to drift;) over to Busters and investigate.

  4. Yeah, sorry about the confusion, it’s been an interesting journey naming the Pale Ale. We’re back at the drawing/naming board and are working hard to come up with an original name. Thanks to all those who have recommended new names, some are actually pretty good. Stay tuned.

Widmer Drifter Pale Ale is almost exactly the same as W07. How do I know this? Because several employees at the Gasthaus told me. The recipe is slightly modified from the original, but for the most part, it is W07 all over again.
