Winterfest 20091827205477945502533TLDR: Winterfest ticket link

Tickets for Minnesota’s premiere “locals-only” brew festival go on sale at noon today. Though Winterfest certainly isn’t a cheap affair, it’s a blast and features tons of special beers from our local breweries in celebration of Minnesota beer, winter and, well… beer.

“Come and join us for the 13th Annual Winterfest! This craft beer sampling event celebrates beer brewed in Minnesota by the breweries and brew pubs that are current members of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild. Chase out the winter chill with a multitude of Winter Warmers, hearty food, beer education, entertainment and music.”

Tickets are $75 + a $7 fee. Please don’t be a chump and sell them on Craigslist or Ebay.

New this year, Winterfest is moving to Union Depot in St. Paul.

Price must have finally weeded out some as i see tix are still available at 8pm. What was it last year? Sold out in five minutes for the past six years i have kept track.

The new venue meant a couple hundred more tickets to this years event.

I’m wondering if they didn’t increase the number of tickets sold. (Figuring the new venue could hold more people.)

I’m hoping not. Part of what I’m paying for is shorter lines. If that is no longer the case then this will be the last year I go.

Tickets did increase but the number of breweries did also. Should all balance out I’d think. Also lots of extra space so we won’t be packed in like before.

Agreed Keith. I saw the 6 pack tickets on sale up until 4 or so days after Winterfest tickets went on sale, Winterfest as well took a few days to fully sell out. I fear they increased tickets. Assuming the new space allows for larger booths and maybe more breweries the lines may not be noticably worse. But if they are this for sure will be my last year. Now what I fear is getting in, with it being only 3 hours if it takes me 30 min past start time to get in the door and to my first beer I iz gonna be PISSED.

The switch of venues was because of the addition of breweries. Last year they had to put them in the hallway and have people lineup outside. Since then the state has added a ton of other breweries. There wasn’t space anymore so they had to move it.
